Random thoughts while in a Waiting Room

Random thoughts while in a

WAITING ROOM

Music Playing
Fish Dancing
Sunshine right outside

Voices heard
Papers rustle
Sounds seem so absurd

Lights flicker
TV's on
Someone's cell phone rings

Faces smile
Stomachs growl
Computer tapping keys

Tense moments
Nerves high
People wait in line

Pages flip
Quiet talk
Waiting for my turn

Toes tapping
Beverage sipped
People sigh out loud

Hearts race
Feet move
As they call my name

Waiting's over
Fears ease
Glad I am all done

Pay bill
Almost faint
I'll wait again someday
written patiently
and with Love and Light,

Well Nina---none of us like waiting --especially in a waiting room. Your post reminded me of the time not long ago that I had my yearly mammogram... No problems---but an 'anxious' feeling while I waited...

Have a great Labor Day Weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy

Hope the news was good. I hate waiting rooms. I've received quite a lot of bad news in them ... I think that must be why. Liked your poem though!

Betsy you are 100% correct. and yes the news was good.... till next year where the wait will happen once again. It's funny how sitting there with new awareness I just observed, people, sounds, the "feel" of the room.... hence... another crazy poem.

And yes Caroline (smiles), the prices of healthcare... I had to put that there.

Stoneweaver, the news was good and I too get that little knot in my stomach in waiting rooms, for probably the same reasons. I think that's why I opened up and looked at/felt the waiting room and "saw" what was going on, not just for me, but for others...

SarahA, Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment. I know you've had your share of waiting room experiences too...

Blessings to one and all. And a heartfelt Thank you for all your kind words and support.

Love and Light, Nina P.

You know, Nina, I never minded waiting rooms. I take a book and practice mindful listening, as you are here. Just noticing everything and being well with it. I also often send metta to the people in the room, especially if they look worried or nervous. Framed in this way, waiting rooms can even seem like luxury....And spiritual practice.

Waiting rooms make me jumpy. I'm glad that you received good news. Great way to capture all that waiting room anxiety in words!

You have a beautiful blog Nina.

If I going to a regular doctor, waiting is not to bad but when I am with an oncologist, Yikes..... it is difficult.

you share this wait so very well, I doubt very many folks relax and enjoy this wait.... So glad your news was good.

I was actually writing something else when these sounds and observations came popping into my senses. I chuckled as I heard some of the sounds. It took away some of the natural anxiety and made it kind of fun (if I can say that). This whimsical poem came to me so quick... I'm glad people can relate. As Jan says, "send metta to the people in the room, especially if they look worried or nervous." It truly helps. Thank you all again and Happy Waiting. (My thoughts and Prayers go out to each of you during your wait...) Love and Light, Nina P.
