From http://beautifulillustratedquotations.blogspot.com/2009/06/how-do-you-realistically-get-happiness.html “How we feel about ourselves, the joy we get from living, ultimately depends directly on how the mind filters and interprets everyday experiences. Whether we are happy depends on inner harmony, not on the controls we are able to exert over the great forces of the universe.” – Mihaly Csikszentmihaly
Denny had a blog page with a question: How Do You Realistically Get Happiness? I posted a response and was suggested to post it here as well.

i have been through your blog now.. and its true that there are things which one should share with others... and enjoyed reading your blog.. esply the poem...
Great acronym and poem Nina and a very interesting question.
For me true happiness comes from the result of overcoming life's challenges. Happiness gives me the desire to move forward in my daily life. It also gives me energy and resilience.
Our self-esteem is where our true happiness lies. To have a healthy self-esteem we must first accept who we are right now.....loving ourselves as the gift that we are...
Take care
Peggy
I love your acronym! You say it all. Happiness does come from within, how we view the world, and how often we laugh and hug. For me, it also includes making other people laugh right along with me, and helping them to glimpse the world in a way they may not have before.
