Is there a Higher Being.... or Free will... my answer to a blog

I've been on a writing hiatus of sorts. Winter taking it's usual pull on me and my going inward to hibernate from the "cold". But in doing so, I hibernate and make myself  "cold" to those around me. I can easily isolate myself in my thoughts and loose track of what I need to do for me, and that is talk, communicate, write.... So here I am actually starting to thaw out and "flow" again. But it is not the new that I share, instead, I choose an older writing.... my thoughts have been inspired by none other than you and your blogs, your words, photo's, paintings, poetry, philosophy.... here is one such inspired thought... I believe it was in response to DB's site Vagabond Journeys

Is there a Higher Being.... or Free will... my answer to a blog

Ah, I do believe there is a Director of sorts. Creating scenes, backdrops, and timing entrances and exits. And maybe even prompting a line or two, or encouraging a shy new actor to take up their place and be the story, feel the part, and act the depths of the scene.

I feel the Director has great confidence in the actors and allows their interpretation of the play to proceed un thwarted.
Yet if miscued on a dark stage, the Director might shine a Light to highlight a mark, accentuate the plot, and cast shadows away.

I believe there is a Director that applauds the improvisation and imagination of the actors, yet, The Director is there, timing and guiding the show.

So it is without farther adieu, I embrace my part in this play called Life, won't you join me?

with Light and Love, Nina P.

Take a look around, and be amazed!!! There is intricate beauty in all things... a flower in the spring, a butterfly in the summer, the multitude of colors in the fall, or even the beautiful patterns of frost on a car in the icy cold of winter.....  Is there a Higher Being?..... I for one, Believe So!

(amazing frost patterns on the car)

I hope each of you are enjoying yourselves this winter (or summer for those in the other hemisphere) I send Blessings to each of you and each of yours. Love and Light, Nina P

Random thoughts while in a Waiting Room

Random thoughts while in a

WAITING ROOM

Music Playing
Fish Dancing
Sunshine right outside

Voices heard
Papers rustle
Sounds seem so absurd

Lights flicker
TV's on
Someone's cell phone rings

Faces smile
Stomachs growl
Computer tapping keys

Tense moments
Nerves high
People wait in line

Pages flip
Quiet talk
Waiting for my turn

Toes tapping
Beverage sipped
People sigh out loud

Hearts race
Feet move
As they call my name

Waiting's over
Fears ease
Glad I am all done

Pay bill
Almost faint
I'll wait again someday

and with Love and Light,

Life's Ramblings...

Life’s Ramblings…
Written many years ago in the early dawn while camping by a lazy stream…

Life just keeps repeating… over and over… breeze after breeze… wave after wave…
like water chasing the shore… each ripple sounds alike…
The wind it rustles the leaves, sweet music in the air. A bird it cries in the distance, calling for rain. Squirrels chatter as they scurry along, playing with each other. A leaf falls by my head, no sound it makes at all. It catches my eye as it blows along. Into the rippling water it goes, riding the waves; up then down, then up again… it gently flows along.

A rock is there and changes things. The leaf it changes too. It stutters and then stops… a moment is all. Then waves, they carry it along. The stream flows on endlessly, or that is what it seems. With little effort it lilts along; it sounds so merrily. Wave upon wave it ripples on. The tune of Life it sings….

If only we could live as this, adapting all the time: A stream it never stops; it keeps flowing every day. Day by day it moves along taking things in stride.

Obstacles, like the rocks we see, sometimes we can’t get through. We push and push and push some more and yet there seems no change. We try again without much luck, whatever can we do?

The stream it teaches not to try to push the rock at all. For gently push and move aside; for now, just go around. With persistence as with change, both rock and water live.

The water keeps on moving by with gentle rippling licks. The rock it thinks it can not budge.; after all it is mighty strong… and Yet… look what happens over time… the rock, its had to change. For rippling water moved aside and continued on its way. It changed its course and compromised after touching the solid rock. The rock has stayed, but over time it’s showing sings of change. It’s edges smoothed as pieces felt the need to join the stream. For obstacles, like rocks, do change, they can’t withstand the waves. The repeating, rhythmic, rippling path has affect, and persuades the rock along.

If we try to be like the stream; water flowing, with life’s changes, we adapt to each and every obstacle we meet. Like the stream we to can flow, regardless what rock comes in our way. We forge ahead, we move on by, not stopping for too long.

For life you see repeats itself, the rocks, they always are. We must adapt and change a bit as we move along. The rocks sometimes will move or change, other times they never will.

Keep rippling like this stream, a never ending wonder.

Thought for Today: Deep Within

From: Thought for Today: http://www.thoughtfortoday.org.uk/
Deep Within:
Just as the highest tower needs a deep foundation, so too our higher thinking is based on going deep within.
(Thought for Today 5/29/09)

Its funny this Thought for Today came today. I was just reading a site called the “Zen in You” and her post on May 27th, 2009 was on Foundations for human beings; spirits, and persons. (Wow…I said that? Author: Caroline, http://thezeninyou.com/wordpress ) There were some amazing responses to her post.

Here’s what I wrote:

When I think of foundations I think of being grounded: in balance with God, the Universe, and self. Centered in the Trinity, there is unconditional Love, Hope and Peace beyond all understanding. The foundations for humans as beings, spirits and as persons, for me, blends into the Love and energy of all that was, all that is, and all that will be: a continuum of all. I find this in nature, meditation and prayer. Your photo’s say what my words can not. Thank you for this post and for sharing your photo collage.Love and Light, Nina P.

How true it is that at the base of everything meaningful is a strong foundation. From Faith, to Love, to Relationships, to Business, to Friendships, to Life itself, a deep and firm foundation is essential. “Higher thinking is based on going deep within.”

In the craziness of day to day life, questions come rushing in from all over the place. We’re able to respond and get the job at hand done quite easily. Yet when we’re quiet and alone, those deeper, harder questions come. You know the ones that hit the heart and, at first glance, may not have an answer….. “What’s the meaning of Life?”; “Why am I here?”; “Where is God?”; “Is there a God?”; “Is there life after death?”; “Will I ever find true Love?” etc… You know, the hard questions, the self doubting questions, the disturbing questions, we all have them.

Don’t you also find that when you’re alone with yourself, meditate, pray, be one with nature; listening to that deep rooted voice in your soul, the answers are there? When we step out of the mind and into the depths of the soul/spirit we can hear the Higher voice. How can we know if it’s the right voice? If it comes from pure LOVE it is the right voice; the Higher Voice. Listen, its there, deep within, firmly founded in your soul… Listen.

May you find your foundation firm and deeply rooted and may you go deep within and listen to your Higher voice, your Higher thoughts and find Love, Hope and Peace.

Love and Light,
Nina P.

Treasures....

Treasures
Make good thoughts the treasures of your life and you will become prosperous. From: Thought for Today/
www.thoughtfortoday.org.uk

The thought for today tickles my mind; so I write…

Just before I opened this thought for today, I’d gotten off the phone with a friend. They’re going through a change today and already they have the situation being negative in all respects and are expecting a horrible day. I tried to get her to see that she hasn’t even started this new situation so why not keep an open mind. “It just might be the best thing for you. Rather than take away from, it may enrich you and your experience….” Despite my pleadings and suggestions of open mindedness and keeping an open heart, she left the conversation in a very negative light. And despite my best efforts, I felt negative too……. But not for long!!!

You see, I fully expect this person to call me later today having had the “worst day of her life”. The inner thoughts are so negative and pessimistic; that will be the day experienced by my friend, unless she can turn around her thoughts and mindset. The thoughts my friend has in her mind are more like rotten eggs than treasures. I planted positive seeds of openness, hope and change. If those thoughts take root, the experience in store for today, will be less horrific; more hopeful, peaceful and balanced.

We’ve all had days where nothing seems to go right. We seem to have a dark cloud following us everywhere we go. If we keep the down, dark negativity of those days in our thoughts and mind, that’s the type of day we’ll continue to have. As soon as I choose to put down my pessimistic umbrella of despair and negativity, I can see a break in the clouds. The Son is there, shinning through a crack in my clouds. Before long that glimmer of Light turns into a rainbow of Hope. There is a glorious wonder in the colors and my thoughts change and my heart Lightens. My thoughts have changed to golden treasures at the end of the rainbow and my day prospers.

Today, let go of the umbrella of negativity and despair. Embrace that Light coming through that small break in the clouds. Change your thoughts to the colors of the hopeful rainbow and watch your day prosper as you find your “pot of gold”: a smile of a stranger; a breeze of change on your cheek; the beauty of a flower; the steadfast strength of a tree; the song of a bird; the constant change of waves; the balance of contrasting light and shadows.… Make good thoughts the treasures of your life and Prosper.

Respect....

Thought For The Day...
Family & Friends:
It’s often said that charity begins at home. So let me first give respect to my family and friends. The above is the Thought of the Day from: http://www.thoughtfortoday.org.uk/

A simple thought yet how many times do we have a bad day and take it out on those closest to us? You got up late, you’re late for work, you spilled coffee/milk, the kids scream the dogs bark, traffic is bumper to bumper, can’t find a parking space, everyone comes at you with their problems (and you gladly and help them), your big project didn’t go over well, the boss was a bear, you can’t find your keys, the stores were packed, someone cut you off on the highway, you got a flat tire, etc…. you get were I’m going with this…. What a frustrating day…. At work, school, or in public, most people put on a good face and treat others with respect. We may curse under our breath at situations, but most of us don’t blow up at people. We treat them with respect and realize they are human and have bad days too. For the most part anyway…, I know I’ve let out a swear word or two under my breath (or out loud if I’m alone in the car) when frustrating things happen.

Have you ever had the day I just described? I think we all can remember “bad” days where things just don’t go right. We get home to our haven, our space, our family…… How do you treat them after a day like you just had? Do you greet your family with love and respect or give a quick frustrated hello when you arrive? Your pet greats you with affection, tail wagging, happy to see you….do you speak gruffly and push them out of your way? Do you go and change without talking to your family? Do you run back out without saying much? Do you find fault with the house, the kids, dinner, pets….? Do you still feel frustrated when you go to bed because you had such a horrible day?

It’s all too easy to take our frustrations out on our family and friends. Treat them disrespectfully or even hurtful. After all they’re your family and good friends, they won’t leave you… they’ll understand? Won’t they? You’ll feel better letting out/off your frustrations, won’t you? Well think about it, how do you feel when you’ve had a horrible day and took that terrible day to your friends and family? Did the horrible day disappear? Did your frustrations lessen?.....
Try something different next time… It’s not always easy but I promise it will be rewarding. Try giving LOVE & RESPECT to your family and friends and see what happens.

Instead of going out for a drink to wash away your troubles; instead go out and walk with nature, calm your soul, and find your ballance. What would happen if you came home and hugged your family and told them you loved them? Ask your family or friends, and then listen to, how their day went. Go out to dinner, or help make dinner, maybe set the table, how about helping with the kids…. Take a walk together, hold hands, play a game together, watch a movie together…. Treat them with Love and Respect and I think you’ll see, all the sudden your day has turned around…. Your focus has changed and your troubles seem to lessen and the Love, Hope, and Wonders of life seem to enter in and take over your mood…. Respect those closest to you; Respect yourself, Respect Life….
