The sun; a star above the rest

Gives Light to all the living race

Without a thought of who is touched

It shines with Love and Peace and Grace

The mist of earth gives way to dawn

The water mirrors what's above

The trees stand guard with branches tall

Welcoming all with Light and Love

With hues; a palette all its own

IT'S IN THE GENTLE CALLING

 

Softly speaks the wonder of the evening sky

Listen to the sound, its' soft and cooing sigh

Evening racing day and day saying good bye

It's in this gentle calling we hear the evening cry

The message that she brings is one of mother's Love

The beating of her heart soft as a flying dove

The sight the sound the feel, is all encompassing of

A heart, a mind and soul, speaking softly from above

Now before you turn and go, listen softly to the call

The whisper's  meant for you, from Forever and the All

The time we have between the dawn and evening's fall

Is our time to live in Love, standing strong and tall

Don't look back to long you see, for its ahead we laud

It's not the road behind us that can trip us as we trod

On this road we travel, we're troubled or we're awed

So listen gently to the voice and hear the words of God

Then follow in the footsteps as you walk into the night

For God so loved the world, he gave Eternal Light

And even in the darkness, you'll have unending sight

Hand in hand you'll travel, with courage and with might

It's in this gentle calling we  live out each new day

Listen, heaven whispers, there's so much more to say

Evening falls, we bow our heads, say "Thank You" as we pray

For in the sounds of silence, we hear "Love: it is The Way"

A Great Warrior cries

The beat of the earth

Is felt around

And cry of the nation

Looking for changes

And ways to learn

 Open your eyes

And see all around you

War, bombs,  destruction

Hear all the lies

 

The mountains shake

Fresh water now tainted

People are dying

All is at stake

Much that is lost

Is humanities hand

Fighting for power

At any cost

Stop all  the hate

And end the pollution

We must do it now

It's not too late

Start now. Today.

Your home is in trouble

Your food and your life

Hurry don't stray

Drums they now sound

We can answer their call

Focus on sharing

All that's around

Earth is our home

Her rhythm is calling

Healing is needed

Peace must now roam

For One with All

Is a union that lasts

One family called earth

We will not fall

Focus above

And make heaven on earth

Let's make a difference

The Seed of Life...

The Seed of Life...

 

 

The seed of life starts small, yet when planted and fed it changes and grows. As it sets its roots deep into the earth, it sends up a fragile shoot into the challenges of life. If kept in the dark, the growth will fade and not flourish. Add the Warmth of the Light and the fragile shoot lifts its head stretching, reaching, gaining strength and courage to grow. The Light invigorates the seed, giving it energy and the ability to thrive.... yet light without nourishment is not enough to sustain the seed.

Storms come and challenge the seed. However, with the storm comes the nourishment of rain. Even through the darkest and toughest storms, there is something that is given to the seed. When roots run true and deep , the strength is there to weather the storms of life. If the seed is never challenged, it may not be able to withstand the strains of the cycles of life... hence, from struggle there comes strength.

When the night  comes and  moonbeams shine, there is rest. A time and place for reflection, healing, change,  and growth. It is a time to contemplate and softly resonate with life.  A time to look to the stars and see the connections of life. A time to listen to the breeze and hear the wisdom of the ages. A time to dream, learn, and connect with the eternal. A place where new growth may want to stay and be held in moonbeams and dreams.

The seasons come and go and the rotation of life beckons our inner spirit. A new dawn awakens  and  the day begins  Blessed with the  power and strength  of Light. Stretching towards the Light, it nourishes through the leaves, to the stem and roots. Gaining strength and health, color and glory the seed of life is  nourished and grows.

Each day, each cycle of life, brings with it opportunities to persevere and grow. We are but seeds of humanity gaining from our earthly experiences. By learning lessons and growing In, With and Through the Light, we find Hope, Courage, Healing and Love. Through the diversity of experiences, we can live. Our soul grows in the Light, finds nourishment with the Spirit, and thrives through God's Love.

May you grow strong roots in the soil of the ONE Truth, may you germinate and grow ever reaching for the ONE Light, and may you Thrive with the knowledge that we are all brothers and sisters of the eternal family of ONE God. May we all nurture each other and grow into the beautiful Garden of our Creators design.

Morning Fog

Morning Fog

Night lifts its sleepy head

Fog, a blanket drawn

Darkness lingers just a bit

As night turns into dawn

Shadow hues of black and gray

Contemplations strong

Hidden thoughts of the past

Will they linger long?

 

 

There's a shift as light it stirs

Colors on the ground

Greens stand as sentry guards

Water central with no sound

Staring at the hazy view

Transfixed on what we see

A pallet changing all its color

As we awake and be

Fairy tales are in this place

Misty silence; contemplate

Reflecting on the stream of Life

And the paths we take

 

 

 Past  to present stories told

But what does lie ahead?

Through the mist a river bends

Is there hope or dread?

With fearful eyes and lack of hope

Color loses its hue

Stand firm in Truth and the Light

Darkness leaves only dew

Thoughts of Love, Hope and Light

The colors they do change

Watching the fog as it lifts

See colors rearrange

With faith and Love in your heart

Possibilities can come true

Opening up your hearts and minds

Imagination takes its hue

So lift the fog that blinds the soul

The Light; it shines and warms

Colors change within the heart

As Love takes many forms

Next time you see a foggy stream

Watch the shadows lift

Reflect on Life with Love and Light

We are ONE IN the Spirit, We are ONE WITH the Light, We are ONE THROUGH God

This literally came flooding in so fast my hand could not keep up writing... I could barley read what was written.. today I feel the need to revisit and edit and add to the message that came... So, it is with gratitude and humility, I shine this Light for others to see...

We are ONE IN the Spirit, We are ONE WITH the Light,

We are ONE THROUGH God.

          The Great Divine, Creator, God, Infinite Intelligence, Master, Trinity, Teacher, Light, ..., "I Am",... has been and always will be in-with-and through us. This "Light" (if you will) is part of each of us and will be in-with-and through us throughout eternity.

Do we let Light shine?

Do we put restrictions on shining our Light?

Have we hidden the Light?

Have we dowsed the flame to accommodate others beliefs?

Are we afraid to let it shine for fear of retribution?

Do we shine only for some and not for all?

Do you look for the Light in others?

Are you able to look beyond the shadows and darkness to see the glimmer of Light in others?...in yourself?

          The Light that is part of each and every soul is eternal. It cannot be put out. The embers are always there, ready, waiting, willing to shine. Even the seemingly darkest people have this Light, this ember. They have just hidden it so deep covering it with fear, hurt, anguish, hate, greed, resentment, ego, etc... They have placed and ocean of darkness within themselves trying to put out the Light..... BUT, the LIGHT cannot be stopped.

Hate CANNOT devour Love and Love IS Light

Fear CANNOT douse the knowledge/the faith of eternal Light

Ego/greed/power CANNOT defeat the embers of Hope, Love, and Light that survive eternity.

Light is there, waiting at the door... waiting for the opportunity, the inquisitiveness of the dark to open the door to see what is behind it. It is this small breath of movement, of hesitation from the dark, that gently blows upon the eternal embers.... the darkness has no choice but to see, feel, know.. this small indiscernible glow is there... pure darkness is no more... the ember of eternal Light never sleeps. Even the smallest breath warms the darkest coal. For deep inside that coal, the Ember of the Spirit Lives.... Waiting with Love... to warm even the coldest and darkest of hearts. Once awakened, this ember, this Light will never again be dimmed. It starts to warm, to glow, to thrive.

          What about those in the Light? Those who's flames already shine? True Light has no ego... it does have self worth... self awareness... but ego has no place... for ego places one above another, ego seeks power, ego is destructive of the True Light. So why this warning of ego? Why not cry out " My Light shines so bright!!"? No, be humble in the Light, for the Light works in you...with you... through you... it shines in and of itself. It magnifies what is needed from you to shine to the world. Light, does not need our help, our ego, to do the work that is needed... Instead it needs our self esteem, our self worth... to know, we are worthy of the Light.... we are worthy of being, doing, sharing, shining this Light allowing it to work in/with and through us, not us using it but rather, the Light (so to speak) using us for the good of all. For we are ONE with the Light.

          Where and when does ego affect our Light? When we judge others... "oh did you see so and so"... "can you believe that".... "OMG what a blank that person is"... the list is endless and we all do it at one point or another in our lives... it is part of our learning process of being human...

ego vs. self esteem the wrestling match of humanity.

· EGO wants recognition

· EGO wants reward

· EGO, second guesses

· EGO hesitates to offer help

· EGO worries

· EGO judges

· EGO stops the flow of Spirit

· EGO stands in the way of Light

Who are we to stand in the way of the Light. For when we stand in the way of the Light, we cast shadows of darkness. We inhibit the breath of Life that we so want to share... for when we stand and speak, act or react with EGO, we are tainting and changing the True Light's purpose into that of our ego's.

          How can we overcome ego? First by remembering that the Light doesn't need our help to shine. Rather it needs us to put aside our ego and let the Light emanate from our soul, our spirit... allow the Light to be ONE in, with and through each of us... There is the thread that combines.

          True Light needs no help to shine. It needs no boast of how much it can do.... it only needs a source, a conduit, a vessel (if you will).. it needs one soul to shed Light/Love onto another.... souls equal, souls worthy... all souls ONE through the Divine, God, Creator, "I AM".

          It is without ego, that we, as Spirit beings of Light, must respond, without hesitation or fear and reach out, through the darkness to touch the spark in another. Let them know they are also children of the Light. The ember is there waiting, for that moment we can take away the cloak, the cover we ourselves as humanity placed, .. peel away the hate... throw out the hurt, the fear that keeps us in the dark.... It does not serve us well... It makes us cold, hungry, hateful, angry and bitter. Turn out the demons of the darkness and feel the ember inside grow...... let it chase away the shadows that seem so powerful in the dark... Feel the Light Lighten your load as the shadows fade from the form of our own creation.... Let the Light take over... and illuminate what is truly there... open the possibilities.. the hopes... the joys.... the LOVE that is part of our eternal soul...

          Once Spirit's Light ignites we must nurture it with mediation, prayer, time with nature; sprinkle it with Love, Hope, Joy and Laughter.... watch it grow.... and let it shine for others to see... share your Light as it is endless and no one can take it away from you... the more you give away, the more you have... the more that join in the Light, the brighter it shines.... for as ONE with the Light, we are ONE with the Spirit, and we are ONE through God/Divine/Creator/Infinite Intelligence/I AM.

          It is with Gratitude and Humility that your Light will shine bright. A selfless act of loving kindness, no matter how small it may seem, is all it takes to spread the breath of Light... that one seemingly small action, may be the air needed to enliven the ember that lives inside another soul...

          ***It is with Humble Thanksgiving that we can Forgive, Live, Love, Laugh through life and share Joy, Hope, Compassion and Love with ourselves and others... for we breathe from the Light of Spirit that lives In-With and Through us every day... every way.... Join with me... as ONE in, with and through the Eternal Light ***

Embrace the Light of eternity for it is Love... You are Love, I am Love, WE are LOVE... Spirit, God, Eternal knows no less.

When the cry of "Please" is answered, remember to always say THANK YOU.

We seem to be in a time of confusion and chaos both physical and spiritual. It is easy to fall to the shortcomings of hopelessness, fear, unworthiness, unlovable, etc.. these negative feels can spread and grow like weeds in an untended garden.

As unpleasant a task as it may seem, we have to be vigilant and pull out the weeds of negativity, till the soil and fertilize it with Hope, Love, Faith and Light and shower it with Gratitude... Soon the flowers of the soul come out and become strong... over shadowing the weeds of negativity with the positive, ONEness of Love and Light....

We can choose what we want to do.  Difficult as the act of choosing may seem, it is possible; and imperative, that we do make the choice to pull out one weed at a time... for once you start... you will feel LIGHTer and the energy you receive will allow you to continue to cultivate the positive, free, Lighter you... 

A soulful cry of "Please" is heard through the wilderness and answered....

as is the released sigh of "Thank You..." 

It is gratitude that allows you to continue along your path with the renewed strength of Love and Light

I wrote this a while ago to inspire a troubled soul:

Light and darkness are both part of life. You can't have night without the day or day without the night. Both have their place in life... Yet, even in darkness there lies Light; the moon and stars come to mind first, Even on the darkest nights, up above, beyond the dark, there are a multitude of stars shining bright… Even now, we don‘t know how many or how vast the universe is….

I'd like to say Light and darkness are the yin and yang of life. They walk hand in hand... at times, one giving way to the other; sorry, hate, sadness, resentments...giving way to Hope, laughter and giggles, Love, Peace, Inspirations... Rainbows!

I choose to live as much of my life in the Light as I can... yet when I was younger, that was not how I felt.. It's in going through the darkness, the dark times, that make the glimmers of Light more precious...

Write out the darkness as it is part of you and me as well... write it down, get it out of the soul... look for the glimmer of Light through the darkness, let go of the hand of darkness and see what wonders await... I know you won't be disappointed...

There are so many things to explore, do, see, contemplate.. Life….so complex with emotions…. Write out the darkness… get it out…. Down on paper.. out on canvas or clay… with each movement of the pen, stroke of the brush or feel of the clay… see, feel, smell, taste, look for the glow of Hope, Love, Light… you’ll find it there beyond the darkness waiting for you… I promise… you won’t be disappointed…

follow the Truth into the Eternal Light of God...

I wrote this for a family that is loosing the battle with childhood cancer. They are preparing for yet another journey of life. One that we must all walk some day... but never alone.... Angels are there guiding the last earthly breath and encouraging the very next breath of Eternal Light, Love and Life ..... We are all Gods Children... Sons and daughters of the Light... each with our cross to carry through our journey.... the one  Hope that Lives in each soul.... shall follow the Truth into the Eternal Light of God...

It is hard through the tears of pain and loss to see the joys of New Beginnings, New Hope, New Life...A transition, if you will: from a human body with a Spirit guided Soul, to a Heavenly Spirit guided Soul.... returning home to a Heavenly Family that Loves  and has missed him while he's been Blessings those here on earth.

God calls all children home back to our Eternal Home. Our hearts ache as human hearts do as grieve we must. But when the breath comes, and air breezes through.... we feel, we know, that our loved one is there... perfect in every way.... We find comfort in the sweet scent we detect, the brush of an unseen touch, the kiss of a breeze across your cheek.... You know your loved one is there.... being held in the softest hand, protected by the Love of the Eternal God....

This is what I wrote for Jack and his family:
This is a time of year we remember God's  human journey of trials, pain and Truth.... He walked through life knowing what would happen, yet he shared His Light with all. He traveled His journey on earth for a short time, and rejoined with His heavenly Family.

We are all children of God Created in His image. And Jack is walking his own human journey.... as your son, and as a cherished child of God. We all can only hope to live our lives as full and joyful as Jack and everyone at Camp Jack. You shine Light even in the darkness... and have shared that Light with all.... What a great lesson you are teaching each and every one of us. I thank you for that as it is though you we glimpse God.

You are  Angels here on earth. I look into Jack's eyes (OK, only through photo's but...) and through them, I see his heritage come through... I see the eyes of God looking In, With and Through him. There is depth of knowledge of the ages in his eyes... a pool of infinatant souls joining in his Light.... His eye's shine the Wisdom and Grace of God...

Stay strong as you follow in the footsteps of those that have gone before. You are a child of God and, as with us all, in God's time... we are all called home. May your journey continue as you follow Gods Light to so many adventures you have yet to behold....
May God grant you His Healing power and Grace, may He comfort you in times of darkness and may His Glory Shine upon you and all at camp Jack and grant you His Peace and Understanding.

May the Blessings and the Promise of Easter Be with you always.

The Steady Light of Hope (revisited)

The Thought for Today is a rerun... but life has a way of going full circle. People I know are going though some very tough times right now. Health, financial, despair etc....  Yesterday I printed off a couple copies of the post I wrote last July to send to out to a couple people. I didn't get anything sent and was having second thoughts about sending it at all as it may be too presumptuous... and well... guess what the thought for today is? Exactly the same "Steady Light of Hope" that I wrote about over a year ago.... Coincidence? I think not.. I think it is the synchronicity of Life, a message of Life... to not second guess and just do.... So, with a few edits from the original version, here is my STEADY LIGHT OF HOPE-revisited:

STEADY LIGHT OF HOPE

Going through an old thought for the day I came across this one that unfortunately, sometimes hits home.

When illness strikes, loneliness, despair, pain, hurt, death, fear, etc….. Find your

STEADY LIGHT OF HOPE

“No Matter how dark the situation, let me always hold on to the steady Light of Hope.”

When I’m right in the thick of things, my darkest moments, my deepest despair; it seems impossible to find a steady Light of Hope. All you see is darkness. No windows, no doors, just deep sorrow, loss, despair, pain, loneliness, fear…. How can they say there’s even a glimpse of hope let alone a steady Light of Hope?

A lot of twelve step programs say you have to hit bottom before you can start the healing. Sometimes, that’s all too true. When your down and out and you can’t get any lower, and all  you feel you have is this dark coal of despair... It is at this point you feel life isn't worth it and you feel you have no choices, ... so low you are that you  even have to look up to see the rim of the gutter….. And there it is…."Look Up"... When all seems hopeless/darkest and the pain is so deep it hurts and  your chest physically aches, that is when you begin to crawl… reaching for whatever you can grasp…. , and you reach up to grab the rim of the gutter… all the sudden you're on your knees… "looking up". You are reeling with pain and despair you can't even talk... It is then that the mind screams out  “God /Creator/Universe/Devine; WHY, HOW, WHERE, STOP… PLEASE!??” That raw guttural plea turns into a prayer of desperation. It’s in that asking for deliverance that healing can begin. That dark coal in your heart starts to warm and glow. The ember starts to take hold. Your hand reaches up to grasp Hope. It’s then that things begin to change. Once the “prayer” or “cry” of desperation is uttered, there’s no going back. Coal may take a while to warm and glow but its fire heats deep and its glow lasts long and can be seen through the darkness.

Even in the darkest of dungeons, there is a glimmer of Light (hope) when they slide nourishment towards you. There is companionship in the quiet mouse that visits you every night. There is communication with the cricket that sings to you. All these small Steady Lights of Hope are around you even though you may feel alone. Look around see, feel, taste, touch, hear the heart beat of life, of Hope in the silence of despair. You are not alone. The Great Creator puts these unassuming beacons to guide us, to be with us even in our darkest days.

Focus on the glimmer of Light. Find comfort in the companionship around you. Listen to the songs of nature, taste the cool water that washes over you, easing pain. Touch the healing hand reaching down.
Reach up to the Light. Look up and see the steady Light of Hope beaming down on you. You are not alone.
That comforting smile from a nurse; that warm cup of tea/coffee being offered; that phone call that comes with the hope of work, the driver that motions for you to go ahead of them; that unexpected coin you find on the ground; the neighbor that waves good morning to you; the sunshine that warms your face; the breeze soft as an angel kiss cool on your cheek; the coo of a newborn baby; the chirp of a bird; the unconditional love given by your most precious pet; ... the list is endless for examples of the “Steady Light of Hope”. We may not recognize them at first when we are in our deepest darkest place, but they are there: ever present, always waiting for us.

Focus on the Lights that are around you and the darkness and shadows will fade. For up above the darkest storm clouds lies a Bright and Glorious Universe of Light. A Light so bright that it will fill your soul with Love and Peace. A Light of many colors creating a glorious Healing Rainbow of Hope. Reach Up and take the Hand of Love and you will find your Steady Light of Hope.

May you find healing and comfort even in your darkest situations. May you hold on to your Steady Light of Hope and find Peace and understanding. May your dark clouds lift giving way to the Healing Rainbow of Hope.

Happiness and a Lotus Life

Have you ever noticed that happiness is not a dependency, it is a decision? You don't actually need anything to be happy. The lotus is a symbol of purity. Its roots are in the mud, but the flower remains above dirty water. Live a lotus life. Be in the world, but unaffected by impurities. http://www.thoughtfortoday.org.uk/


For me, the last three thoughts for today fit together. The first one, Radiate Happiness, is so true. There are times when you are happy through and through, it just bubbles out. Nothing can go wrong, life is pure pleasure and joy. People want to be near you and interact with you. They leave with a smile and a more joyful heart. You walk down the street smiling that big wide Happy smile that comes from deep within. While you're walking you might be humming, singing, whistling, the happiness is so great. If you're sitting, you might be tapping your toes, your pencil, or bobbing your head to an inner Happy beat. All the sudden you notice that someone else is humming the same tune, smiling a little wider, walking a little lighter. The Happiness that you radiated touched others without even trying. The day itself is Lighter just because of your happiness. Just look around with open eyes and see how your Radiating Happiness attracted so much without you even trying! Amazing the power of Happiness!!



The second falls in with the first. We can change our mood instantly by looking for or thinking of Happy things, Happy Thoughts. On those dreary, cloudy, rainy, drizzly days, doesn't seeing the sun crack through or a rainbow appear bring instate smiles? Well on dark days when your mentally exhausted, just think Happy thoughts and before you know it, your heart is warmed and the color has come back into your spirit. OK so I hear some saying, "how can I think happy thoughts, I'm tired, it's dark?" and "well... it's downright nasty here inside me, there's no way happy thoughts can help; there aren't any happy thoughts.". I suggest reading the comics, look around and see if you can't find a smiling face, or remember a day when you were a child that made you smile: remember flying a kite, playing ball, giggling with your best friend... By the sheer act of trying to think of those good times from the past, soon your insides start to change a bit, that dark cloud lifts just a little, that bleak firm mouth starts to turn up a bit. Maybe you're not laughing on the outside, but a smile is creeping onto your face and into your heart. The sheer thought of Happiness, Happy Memories can bring out the sun on even the darkest days. Try it today and watch; feel and be the change in your life today.



OK so you can see the connection of the first two but the Lotus Life.... come on that doesn't fit here... Well I think it does. It brings forth the Purity and Lightness of the soul, of ourselves. Rooted deep, we can thrive above the muddy waters of life to live as the beautiful lotus. The roots run deep and hold firm brining nourishment and growth. We have a Soul, a Spirit deep within. It feeds us, holds us, and constantly invites us to grow. The pond, or waters of human kind are muddy and murky, difficult to see through at times. Have you ever felt that the world around you is trying to muddy you and take you over to a darker side? I know I have from time to time. Daily life can get overwhelming and threatening. So I fall back to my roots. It's there that we can each find and draw upon the strength and purity of the ages and rise above the murky waters of life to emerge a lotus of Purity and Light. It's not ignoring the day to day challenges of life, it's in realizing that that's just it, it's just a day to day, it's not eternity, and we can persevere and grow through it all. My Foundation and my Light are eternal. I draw upon my roots and find Strength and Hope to get me though to the Promise of Purity in the Light.


So how does this relate back to the first two? Happiness is part of how we make it through the muddy waters of life. By being happy, finding happiness, we Lighten our soul and bring Joy to our hearts. When the impurities of daily life bring you down, tire you out, think of your roots, think of Happiness. Remember the joy of a lollipop, the fun of chasing bubbles, the pleasure of burying your face into the soft fur of your favorite pet... soon there is blossom of joy inside ready to bloom. Life seems worth living and the Light of the sun brings Pure Joy, and a full heart and your Lotus shines Pure. The Beauty and Happiness that is in you Radiates around you and attracts Joy, Peace and Love.
